One or so pages

My 6th term review is over! A few pages from my portfolio.

Fezzik

The third character (Fezzik the Giant) in Inventive Character class. Tough guy but really a sensitive, hands-on guy. Ze gentle giant is actually the boyfriend in his old Navy uniform, whittling on a piece of wood. Sexy :)
Anyway, this isn't exactly him. I changed the face a little bit and made his head smaller so is body would be bigger. This one didn't need a whole lot of photoshop touchups like the others. I tried editing in corel painter11 and I nearly punched my screen from frustration. I kinda like the way this came out, but there's always room for improvements. Critiques? I'm thinking of maybe putting a label or on the crate/box he is sitting. The hands look like they can use some clarifying.

It is spelled Fezzik, right?

Descanso

Some studies for digital landscape.

Digital in photoshop.

Gouache washes (I treat them like watercolors, bear with it) with some photoshop editing.

Style

First Style project: a boy in his backyard in his fort made out of an old boat, lives in New Orleans, dusk/night, Mary Blair.

I love the kid. I want to make a clay toy of him :o)

Princess Buttercup again

I'm embarassed about the first Buttercup I posted earlier! I like this one better. Acrylic washes and watercolor. I'm glad I did it over again.

Princess Buttercup

Lou Police's Inventive Character class. The story is The Princess Bride, which I'm pretty sure all of most people are familiar with. In the style of Bernie Fuchs, and set in 1930s pulp magazine/film noir. Ooooh the drama!!!
Anywho, it was really REALLY hard to get Fuchs style digitally. And even harder to do dramatic color/lighting with! Argh, this is what I came up with and I'm not full loving it yet, but I'm sick of looking at it now.
